Roomed with a new woman

He woke up, on the cold floor again, greeted by the same pictures on the wall, the same room. He sighed, looking a the room. He noticed something or someone new. He crawled closer to the blonde woman, and gently nudged her. "Are you okay?" He asked, gald he had someone to room with. He heard his voice a bit too loud, not using it for a while had made him accustomed to the silence.

"Huh..? Uhm.. yeah. I guess" She sighed after that she had looked at the guy for a moment. Helga sat up and tried to smile a bit.
"Who are you?.."

He smiled widely. "I'm Kenai!" He said happily. "You can't believe how happy I am for having a roommate. I have been alone for a while." He blushed when he noticed how excited he was. "Sorry. What is your name?"

"wow..." Helga chuckled a bit suprised, but she understood. Hours felt like days when you were alone in this place. "I'm Helga.. Nice to meet you." she said and still tried to smile

"Nice to meet you Helga." He said smiling to her. He nodded at her statement. "True, it feels like time is standing still here." He corrected his position by removing his legs out from under him and sat on the floor crosslegged. "So how long have you been here?"

"a while now..." she glanced at him while she leaned against the wall. "weeks.. Months.. Who knows?" she shrugged whit a sigh. "you?"

"I remember that it was october when i was taken. So I guess I'm the new one here. I've been roomed with only Lilo so far." He said with a serious tone.

"Ahhh.. Lilo, sweet girl.." she smiled sarcastically and wrapped her arms around herself. "Did you like her?"

He leaned forward, and smiled widely. "Yeah! She is really nice. We played games and talked. It was fun." He looked at her. "Have you met her face to face or talked to her through the wall?"

"I've met her.. we were in the same room for a while" she said blankly with a shrugg. "But.. so you haven't met John yet? The guy who took us?"

His eyes widened. "John?! No I haven't, yet atleast." He looked down to the ground. "I'm not sure if I want to."

"ehe.. Trust me when I say that you really don't wanna meet him.. It's just horrible.." She sighed once again when she thought about last time when she met him, out in the garden.. How much she wished that it wouldn't had happened.
"So.. What did you do before you came here? Did you have a family?"

He looked at the floor saddly. "I had two brothers."

"two brothers?.. Me too-- Kinda. We grew up together, and one is here actually, Eric.." she said blankly. She missed him, and Miguel..
"Uhm... had?"

"They are dead now. Because of me." He said saddly.

"I'm sorry to hear that.." She said with a sad tone in her voice, and she really meant it. "what happend?"

He bit his lip, trying to fight back the guilt. "We were out hunting, and they were teasing me, and i left them. When I came back they were fighting a bear. I didn't go there to help them. I just turned my back on them. When they didn't come back to the village, we went to look for them. All we found were torn clothes and blood stains." He fell into silence waiting for her to judge him.

"Well... You couldn't know that they were going to be-- killed... And if you had joined them, then maybe you would be dead by now.. ?!"
She said when she saw how sad he was over it, but she wasn't used to this, so what could she say really?

He turned his head tuo look at her. "It would have been better than having all this guilt." He said his voice almost a whisper.

"Just... Just forget about it.. They're dead, and they'll always be, no matter how sorry you're about it" she frowned and looked away.

He looked at her. "How can I?" He said quietly. Before he turned his attention back to the floor.

"I.. I don't know, and I don't care! I can't stand it with all the sad people around here" She burst out and walked quickly over to the bathroom and closed the door after her. Once inside, she took a few deep breaths to calm down and leaned against the door, forcing herself to hold back the tears

He watched her out burst with wide eyes. When she went to the bathroom, he stared at the door for a while. "Well sorry." He said to noone in particular and laid down on the floor his back turned to the bathroom door. He didn't understand what was her problem.
