A Simply Visitor

"Read my lips," he said annoyed.
"I did NOT want a prostitute. As if you wouldn't throw yourself at ANY guy you were roomed with - and don't dare saying you wouldn't because you have proven me right!"
He started drying his hair with the towel.

'What makes you think I'm still a prostitute? Everything changed once you brought me here,' she said, raising her voice a little, 'I only did that out there because .. the reasons I was a prostitute don't exist in here ..' she sighed, sitting on the bed before looking up at him, 'I've only "thrown myself" at people in here because I have feelings for them .. my feelings might be stronger for some people, but .. no matter what you think of me .. I'm not purposefully throwing myself at everyone because sex is all I think about!' she stopped, realising that she'd started shouting at him, before staring down at the floor.

"Oh yeah, you're so changed," he couldn't help himself but laugh sarcastically.
"As if you'd get feelings for me within a couple of days. I'm your bloody kidnapper, have you seem to forgotten that? Don't expect me to believe you feel anything but hatred and sexual attraction towards me," he laughed at her face, honestly believeing what he was saying.

'I told you not all of my feelings were the same for everyone,' she said and glared up at him, annoyed that he was laughing at her, 'I haven't forgotten .. but do you really expect me to hate you after we talked and you said those things to me .. after you've taken care of me and ..' she stopped and looked away from him, gently touching her neck with her fingertips, '.. I can't bring myself to hate you after all that ..' she said quietly before smirking up at him, 'no matter how much you try and piss me off.'

He snorted.
"Any sain person would hate me," he mumbled and got his pants on.
He was used to everyone hating him, it was too weird for him to understand how anyone couldn't hate him. After all, hadn't even Megara hated him deep down? Just a little?
It hurt him to think about it, but he was sure she had.

'Then I guess I'm not as sane as I'd like to believe ..' she said as she fell back onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling for a while before speaking up again, 'I haven't had that many people around that cared for me .. is it so wrong to want to keep hold of those people when I find them, so I don't feel so .. alone ..'

He couldn't help it. She was crossing the line.
"What? You think I care for you?" he laughed sarcastically.
"You think you're the first girl to be in my room? You think you're special?" he laughed harder now.
"Wake up your highness. Stop being so fucking naive."

'No, I'm not that stupid ..' she said quietly, keeping her eyes on the ceiling, 'I just meant .. I ..' What did she mean? She sighed, breathing out slowly as she tried not to get annoyed at him for laughing at her again. She knew she had failed as soon as she turned to look at him.

'I know I'm not the first .. you told me before after you gave me this .. this stupid ..' she pointed to her neck as she started raising her voice, 'I'm never special .. never the only one! How could I think that someone like you could feel anything for anyone?!'

She started rubbing her neck furiously with one hand, wondering if she did it hard enough she could make the mark go away, 'why did you give me this stupid thing in the first place ..' she muttered as she gave up and rolled onto her side so she didn't have to face him.

He knew it. She was judging him. They all were. Always.
"Well, then I guess you're not as stupid as you look," he said coldly.
"But it's not just me. I don't think anyone could truly care about a prostitute like you."

'What ..?' she said slowly. His words just further reminding her of what she already knew deep down .. that everything kind anyone had ever said to her was just an act.

'What's wrong with me?' she thought out loud as she tried to blink back the tears, 'does what I do really mean that nobody will ever truly care about me? .. They'll just pretend to care and disappear once they've gotten what they want from me ..' she thought about it for a moment and smiled sadly, 'I chose to do this, so what did I really expect ..'

"It doesn't mean that no one will care, you stupid whore, it means you will fucking drive away anyone who does! And that's what I would like to know! What the hell is wrong with you?!"
Why did he care so much about what Odette did or didn't do? She was just another filthy human being. So what? It was to be expected from such low life.

She jumped slightly when she heard him talk, only just realising that she had said those things out loud. She turned to look at him, raising herself off the bed a little.

'Like who? If no one really cares then what does it matter if I drive them away?' she said, starting to raise her voice to him again, 'and if you know so much about everyone here, why don't you tell me what's wrong with me?!'

"YOU DON'T CARE! And that's what's wrong with you! You don't even care about yourself or anyone else for that sake. You're so gawd damn used to everyone trying to take care of you for you that you forget to do it yourself! Well, guess what! I'm done taking care of you!"
He grabbed a pair of jeans and put them on before storming out the door, messy hair and bare upper body, but he didn't care. He needed to calm down before he went back.

After he left, she stared at the door for a while, was she really like that?

'Fine, I'll show you ..' she muttered to herself, determined to prove that he was wrong about her. She placed a hand on her stomach and stood up, 'I can take care of myself .. I don't need you or anyone else ..' she continued saying this to herself as she slowly made her way back to the shower, hoping that if she said it enough then she might actually start to believe it.

She turned on the shower and sat under the running water, her back to the bathroom door.

'I'm fine by myself ..' she whispered as she hugged her knees to her chest and closed her eyes, feeling nothing but the warm water falling against her skin.
