The rich and the poor

She shrugged, for once she felt totally helpless, "I don't know what to do."

Sinbad didn't know what to do either. He had no idea how to deal with nightmares.
He moved a little closer to Anya and put his arm around her. He wasn't sure what to tell her, so instead he just tried to comfort her a little.

She rested her head on his shoulder closing her eyes, "What really sucks is that everyone has to sleep eventually. I can't escape it."

"Yeah, that's true," he said in a sad tone. She couldn't escape forever. Not even for that long. She'd have to sleep eventually. And there was nothing to do about it.
"But maybe it will be better when we get the furnitures," he suggested.

"Maybe." she agreed. Maybe the floor just reminded her too much of the orphanage

"Then how about trying to stay awake until then?"
- or at least until the sleeping gas makes us pass out.

She laughed a little, "Trust me I'll try, but without anything to do you get tired easily."

"Then how about we find something to do? To keep our minds away from the sleep."

She smiled alittle, "Like what?"

He thought about it for a little while. They didn't have any furnitures. They only had that stupid broken phone and the rest of the catalogue.

"Hm... What do you say about making some paper airplanes, maybe?"

She laughed, "Sure if you'll teach me."

"Sure," he said and smiled.
"Wait here."
He walked over to the catalogue and brought it back to Anya.
He sat down beside her. He carefully ripped two pages out of the catalogue.
"So, have you never tried making paper airplanes before?"

"uhh no," She said laughing lightly

"Okay, then we'll take it from the top," he said with a smile and handed her one of the pages.
He thought a little about what kind of paper airplane he should make. He decided to go with a model, that he was sure he remembered how to fold.
"You start by folding it on the middle like this," he said and folded his own paper.
"And then back out. And then you fold the sides in like this." He watched her, seeing if she was following.

Anya folded the paper as he was explaining, "Like this?"

"Yes, exactly." He looked at his own paper, than back at hers.
"Make sure you make sharp folds. You can use the back of your nail to press it down," he said as he showed it on one of the folds on her paper.


"... And then you finish by folding the wing tips up like this."
He took his paper airplane up and looked at it from the side. Then he modified the wings a bit.
"The wing tips should be a little higher than the body. So it looks kinda like a Y. And then it's time to try it and see if it needs to be modified more," he said and smiled.

"Ok" she said, finishing the fold, holding it up for him to see.

He looked at it.
"Yes, that looks good. Let's try them. We can always change them a bit if needed."
He turned around so it wasn't so likely that it would hit a wall. Then he threw it and watched it fly. It flew a bit too much to the right, but it got a few meters before it hit the ground.
Then he looked at Anya.
"Your turn."

She stretched her hand back and threw the plane. It sank to the ground pathetically. She laughed, "Well I found another thing I'm terrible at."

Sinbad laughed.
"It wasn't that bad."
He strecthed his body forward and reached for her plane.
He looked at it for a little while.
"Maybe if we lift its tail a bit," he said as he adjusted it.
Then he gave it to Anya.
"Try giving it a bit more speed when you throw it," he said and smiled.

She threw it harder this time. It soared to the other end of the room. she smiled "well looks like your an expert at paper planes."

Sinbad smiled.
"Well, I have tried it before. And you are much better than you think you are. As long as you don't give up too quickly."

she smirked at him, "giving up isn't normally my thing."

He smiled.
"That's good to hear. It's a useful ability to have in here," he joked.

She smiled, "Yeah I guess that is." She nudged him ,"I think you're better at it than me though."

Sinbad laughed.
"I'm not so sure about that."

He turned his head to hide a silent yawn. Then he faced Anya again and smiled.
"But we just have to do our best. Then I'm sure we'll be alright," he said and gently tapped her nose.

"If you're tired, you can sleep." she said smiling, she didn't want to keep him up

"Oh," he exclaimed. He had hoped she wouldn't notice.
"No, I'm really not that tired. Besides I want to keep you company until tomorrow," he said and smiled.

She smiled at him, "Thanks"

"So... any ideas as to what to do next?" he said as he tilted his head a bit.

"I can't really think of anything." she looked at him, "Do you have any stories about your past that you're willing to share?"

"Sure. What kind of story do you wanna hear?"

She thought for a moment, "good memory. something happy."

"Something happy..." he said for himself as he thought about what to tell her.
"Well, then how about the first time I went fishing," he said and put his arms behind his head.
"I think I was 6 or 7. My brother, Tobias, and I snuck on board on one of our fathers smaller ships. We brought fishing nets with us. Tobias had tried it before, and he said he knew a place where we would be able to reach the water with the nets. There were lots of small fishes in the water. I saw my brother put his net in the water, and he caught some. I wanted to try as well, but my arms wasn't as long as his. He was 5 years older than me. But I didn't want to let him know he could do something I couldn't, so I leaned over the border of the ship."
He laughed.
"I always had this idea that I had to prove that I was as good as him. I was able to reach the water with the net, but then I realized I couldn't get up again. I tried crawling up the side, but it was slippery, and I couldn't get foothold anywhere. Then Tobias noticed I was in trouble and he helped me up. When I got up I was blue from the stomach and down. The paint from the ship had rubbed off on my clothes and skin. It was a really short fishing trip, because we had to sneak back to the house and get me clean without our father noticing. It was really a mess. But we had a good time anyway," he grinned.

Anya laughed, "It sounds like you and your brother are close."

"Well...."
Sinbad closed his eyes and smiled sadly for himself.
"... We were close."

Oh. Anya blinked, she reached out and touched his arm. "I'm so sorry."

Sinbad turned his head and looked at her when she touched him.
"It happened a long time ago. I'm... getting used to it."
- Getting used to the thought that you killed me?
- Shut up, he thought and clenced his hand for a short moment. Then he relaxed it again.

(I have to go to bed now, and I'm going to go tour a college tomorrow so I won't be on until 3 )

She saw him become tense then relax, something aweful must have happened

Sinbad looked at her and faked a smile.
"But the past is the past. There's nothing to do about it anyway."

She sighed, "Yea I guess you're right about that."

{OOC: Sorry for the late reply. I was out with some of my neighbours. }

Sinbad laid down and sighed.
"Though it would sometimes be a lot easier if you could just forget about it comepletely. But I guess that belongs in a dream world," he said and laughed sarcastic.

She laughed a little, "I can never escape my past, not even in my dreams"

Sinbad looked up on Anya.
"Yeah I have kinda noticed that. Can I ask you something?"
Without waiting for her reply he continued.
"You think that what you did to your father was wrong, am I right?"

She swallowed hard, thinking for a moment. "Yes. What I did was out of rage and hatred."

"But it's not like it was just some innocent person you killed. You had your reasons. So I don't really see it at something that bad. And maybe you shouldn't see it that way either."

She shrugged a little, "Still he seemed like he had changed, like he became an actual nice person. I shouldn't have killed him. no matter what he had done to me in the past. Killing him didn't fix anything, it only made things worse."

"Hmm," Sinbad said and thought for a little while.
"But if he should have been forgiving for what he did in the past, just because he changed.... shouldn't you could be forgiving as well?"

She thought for a moment, "Maybe you're right..."

Sinbad smiled a little.
"I know it can be hard to forgive yourself... maybe even impossible... but I think you should at least try."
