Cold Room; Cold Shoulder.

"Oh," she exclaimed. She had almost forgotten.
She looked down and picked it up with one hand, the other hand still holding the teddybear from Dimitri.
"It's from... Lilo," she said and froze as she read the name.

"Lilo?" he repeated. "Who's that?"

"A little girl.." she said and gulped.
"She kills people for fun..."
She meant nothing spiteful in her words, but she was still deadly afraid of this little girl. So afraid even, she didn't dare to open her present, but simply kept staring at the tag.

Sinbad stared at her in shock. Was she serios? It was hard enough to believe that someone killed for fun. But a little girl. He didn't know how to react to that.

He didn't reply, which must only mean he was as freaked out as she was.
She slowly opened the gift, realizing she had to sooner or later, and pulled out a teddy bear holding a heart with text on it. I love you.
It took all her willpower not to throw the bear away. Was this some kind of sick joke?

Sinbad looked at the teddy bear for a long time.
"It doesn't show in her gift," he said eventually, bot sure if he really believed that this child was so evil.

"She told me she killed a woman... drowned her.. in cold blood... No one even forced her to do it.. she just... wanted to..." She was still freaked out, and put the teddybear down in the suitcase, closing the lid. She just wanted to forget about it.

"Wow," he siad in a low shocked voice. "That sounds... unbelievable. A little girl. there really are some strange types in here."

"Can we talk about something else?" she asked, clearly shaken by the topic.
She walked towards him, before walking past him and sitting down once again on the matress, hugging her teddy bear.

"Uhm, sure," he said and stood up and followed her.
"Anything specific you want to talk about?"

"Anything," she said and smiled at him.
She honestly had no idea, but hoped Sinbad had any suggestions in mind.

Sinbad thought about it for a little while.
"Since it's Christmas," he said eventually. "Then how about sharing a Christmas memory you'll never forget?"

"What do you mean?" she asked and looked at him bewildered.
Was he really suggesting what she thought he was, or had she mishear or misunderstood him?

"Don't you have a special memory that always reminds you of christmas? If you have one and want to share it, then I'd love to hear it."

"Oh," she said and sighed releaved, laughing a little to herself at the silly thought.
"Well, we always had a big christmas party... never really liked it," she said, laughing again.

Sinbad looked at her a little confused. He tried to let it slide and just listen to what she said, but he was curious about her reaction.
"What did you think I was asking you?" he asked eventually.

She looked at him before quickly looking away, blushing like a tomato in the sun.
"Ehmm, nothing," she mumbled hesitantly, ashamed she had even thought that.

"It must be hard for you to hide things when you always blush in such a cute way," he laughed softly.

She blushed even more, trying to hide her face in her shoulders, though she was glad he hadn't pushed her for another answer. She hoped he would just let it pass, it would be endlessly awkward to say what had really been on her mind.

Sinbad laid down on the mattress with his arms behind his head.
"We also used to have big christmas parties. It was not really my thing either."

"Parties are overrated," she sighed.
"Why not just have fun with your closest friends?" she said curiously. She wished christmas was more like that, though she knew she didn't exactly have any close friends to celebrate with if she did.
"Just a couple of people would be enough.." she said softly, still blushing, but trying to shake it off.

"Yeah," he said in a low voice as he wondered who he'd spend christmas with if it was like that.
But as he thought about it he realized that he hadn't really had any people like that in his life before that. At that time he would never have considered Cinderella one of his friends, and there was no way he would have spend christmas with her if he had actually had a choice. He had had a few friends, but not really anyone he was really close with.

She looked down on him, not really knowing what to say next.
"So..." she said and laid down on the matress next to him.
She didn't know what to say next, she just didn't want there to be any awkward silence.
Though she realized now that she might have created an awkward silence by saying that.

"Do you think we will be able to get outside to see the fireworks on new year's eve?" he thought out loud, staring at the ceiling as if he could actually see the fireworks from there.

She looked up imagining it. Bright colored light had always been one of her favorite things. Citylights at night... fireworks... it was all just so beautiful...
"No," she said sadly. They had been lucky enough to get out once, she doubted that would happen again.

"Hmm, you are probably right," he said with a disappointed sigh. He didn't really believe it either. But it would have been nice.

"Either way, we should be happy we were allowed outside at all," she said, closing her eyes and smiling to herself. Though the events of that day hadn't been perfect, the snow, the trees and the fresh air had been amazing.

Sinbad turned to his side and looked at it.
"You are right. We should be thankful for everything we have in here," he said and smiled at her.

"I still don't know much about this place... but one thing I know, is that in here, everything could always be worse," she said softly, maybe to herself more than to him. And if everything could always be worse, they should be greatful that it wasn't.

Sinbad nodded slightly, agreed with her in silence. There was always a chance of it getting worse. You never know what to expect in here. It seemed better to enjoy what you had while you still had it.

She didn't know what else to say, so she burried her face in the teddybear she had gotten from Dimitri, snuggling it close to her chest.
"You need a name," she laughed to the teddybear.
"What do you think Sinbad?"

Sinbad moved closer and looked at the teddybear for a little while.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" he asked eventually.

She laughed before looking at it as if concidering.
"What do you think?" she asked finally. She didn't really mind either.

Sinbad put his hand on it's head and studied it more closely.
"I think it looks like a boy."

"Then a boy it is," she said and smiled at him.
"Now, any name suggestions?"

Sinbad thought about it for a little while.
"You said you had a teddybear like this at home... What was that one called?"

"Teddy," she laughed.
"Not the most creative of names. But no teddy could replace him. This little guy needs a new name," she smiled playfully and waved the teddybear in the air, showing him off.

Sinbad thought about a name. He never used to give his teddy bears or any other toy he had names. He had no idea what a good name for a teddy bear would be. He looked at the bear and third to see what it looked like. It was white, fluffy, soft...
"How about Marshmellow?" he suggested after looking at it for a long time.

"Marshmallow? That's ADORABLE!" she squeeled excitedly and giggled like a schoolgirl.
"Hi Marshmallow," she said in a silly way facing the teddybear she was now holding at an arms' distance before putting him in her lap.

Sinbad smiled as her ad he studied her reaction. She was really fond of that bear. It was so cute the way she acted.
"I'm glad you like the name," he said softly, truly happy that the hadn't been too silly. Or maybe it was exactly silly enough for a teddy bear. He wasn't quite sure how such names worked.

"Thank you", she said and smiled as she burried her face in the teddybear.
She said it as much to Sinbad, as she said it to Dimitri, though Dimitri couldn't hear her. She liked to think that if she focused enough, and thought about him hard enough, he would know. It was silly, and she knew it wouldn't happen, but she would still try.

Sinbad smiled softly while he admired her hugging the teddy bear.

Charlotte stopped smiling as she looked up at Sinbad yet again. He was so strange, and she couldn't decide whether he was a good or bad person. From others he sounded bad, but... he seemed so sweet and nice whenever she was talking to him.
She stared at him, desperately trying to figure out what he was really like, and didn't even notice how stupid she looked by staring at him like that.

Eventually Sinbad had let his head rest on the mattress as he looked up at the ceiling. Once in a while he had looked at Charlotte out of the corner of his eye. At one point he realized she was staring at him.
"Uhm... is everything alright?"

"Oh!" she exclaimed a bit loudly as she looked away, realizing she had been staring.
"I'm sorry!" she blushed badly and looked to the ground ashamed.
"I was just... thinking.." she mumbled as an excuse.
Damnit, why did she have to act so stupid around people?

"Hey, it's alright," he said softly, laughing slightly, as he sat up. He swifted a stray hair behind her ear.
"Were you thinking about anything interesting?" he said a bit teasingly.

She blushed, but couldn't help but giggle at his teasing voice.
"Nahh, nothing interesting. Just you," she laughed and nudged him teasingly back.

"Oh, so I'm not interesting?" he said and pretended to be offended.

She couldn't help but laugh, still blushing bright red, but forgetting to be shy for a moment.
"Maybe just a little bit," she said and winked playfully at him before laughing again.

"Is that so?" he said with a sly smile.
"I guess that's better than nothing," Sinbad said as he moved closer and started tickling her, lightly at first.
