He finds her fragile clumsiness cute and refers to her as his baby sister, despite only being 3 years apart. He made a promise to take her back home with him when they get out and has even confided in her about his older brother's death. He loves Charlotte like a sister and hopes she never falls with him around.

The first time they met, he told her how he felt before staging a mock fight to throw off the Villain of their true relationship. In a talk through the wall, Shang told Snow he loves her and expressed how she is his light.

Born and raised in Han China, Li Shang is seen as highly respectable and capable leader. Albeit, he, at times, puts his duty above his feelings, he cherishes his family and would do anything to see them happy. He is often called a 'Pretty Boy' due to his dashing good looks and strong physique but he is very reserved and thoughtful and also cautious about everything. He tends to stick to himself, often in deep thought, judging the people and his surroundings carefully. Shortly after becoming Captain and having a disagreement with his training counselor, Shang takes a walk to clear his head. That is the last anyone saw of him.
