Stranger..

Helga rolled her eyes when she sat up and banged her head against the wall. She was so tired of this, of everything. She looked at the man across the room and raised an eyebrow. Another one she didn't recognized, but maybe this one could be funnier.. Well, he seemed different from the rest.
"Are you awake?..."

Shang slowly awoke and winced at the throbbing in his head. Urg, These migraines are horrible to begin with and this one has just become much worse. Third time's the charm, I guess.

"Are you awake?..."

He glanced over at the blond who had spoken. Not Charlotte and definitely not Snow. He sighed and began rubbing his temples, "Yeah. I'm Shang." He bowed shortly. His head was pounding too much for him to stay down long.

"Do you have a headache?...Then I guess you're new here, I used to have it too after the gassing... " she said blankly before she smiled a bit.
"I'm Helga.. Nice to meet you.."

"Yes. Unfortunately I am... But I still keep hoping this is some test or something... Except, its gone on way too long to actually be one." He scratched the back of his head and forced a smile when she introduced herself. "Nice to meet you too, Helga." He hoped he pronounced her name correctly.

He took the time to examine the room. Other than the cell phone, tv, and the camera, Shang noticed a mattress, a black carpet that he thought seemed out of place, and even a towel. Seeing the towel made his smile more natural as he cleared his throat. "Excuse me while I go to the restroom." He nodded to Helga, picked up the towel and headed into the bathroom.

Once inside, Shang pulled out a small bit of toilet paper and shaped out an S from it. He smiled as he thought of his loved ones and then placed it under the bathtub for them to find. Snow, Charlotte...Stay safe.

"... Yeah, sure.. take your time.." Helga shrugged and watched him as he left the room. She glanced around the room like he had done and saw the mattress. She smiled a bit while she walked over to it and threw herself on it. It was good to feel something soft, to sleep on the floor isn't so nice
Helga laid her hands under her head and looked up on the room while she shouted out to the bathroom.
"How long have you been here?.."

Shang heard her shout and couldn't helping smiling as he took his clothes off. "I'm not exactly sure. I've been trying to stay to a sleep pattern to determine when a day might have passed but seeing as its getting colder in this place I'd say its been about a month, maybe longer."

He stepped in the shower and washed off thoroughly before getting out and drying off. He put his clothes on and then opened the door as he proceeded to the sink to wash the towel. When he finished, he then hung the towel over the door to dry and approached Helga. "That might take a while to try. So, how about you?"

"A month?.. and you still have headache from the gassing?.. geez.." She chuckled while she still looked up on the ceiling, and heard when he turned on and off the water after a while. She smiled to herself when she thought about the first day she was here, how fun she had in the shower with Naveen ...
Once he came out, she lay on the side while she shrugged.
"Well... a really long time.. or, it feels like that anyway.. I remember it was halloween a while ago here, so sometime before that.."

"A month?.. and you still have headache from the gassing?.. geez.."

He felt slightly insulted by her comment and when she sounded unsure of the amount of time she's been here, he cleared his throat. "That's strange. Don't you women ovulate on a set schedule?" He asked with a little sarcasm in his tone.

Helga looked at him once again, but with a eyebrow raised, before she chuckled and lay down on her back again.
"Yeah, but when we barely get something to eat, and because of the unnatural environment, it doesn't come as it should.. our bodies reacts.. " she still laughed a bit. "Was that a good answer?..."

Shang nodded and sat down on the edge of the bed. It felt good to sit on something soft again. He wondered if Charlotte had a room with a bed too. He slowly sighed.
"So how much do you know about John? Have you ever met him? Maybe even had a talk with him?" He turned to look at her. He knew he was tossing questions at her but... she looked informative.

Helga almost glared at him for a moment before she looked up again and sighed.
"I've met him, he made me hate him even more, that's it.." she said and shrugged.
"I know nothing about him, just that he likes to torture people and that he's a sick bastard.."

"I see." Shang continued staring at her. "Have you ever thought about escaping?"

"All the time, but everyone tells me that it's impossible..And I have just been outside once, so I couldn't really see if there was a way out of here.. "
She said blankly and shurgged sometimes.
"And do you see the camera?.. He's watching us, so you shouldn't talk about that.."

Shang glanced at the camera and shrugged it off. If John would pay them a visit for just talking about escaping, then he must not be sure of his confinement methods.
"So you've been outside? How did you get out there? Can you tell me what you remember seeing?"

Helga sighed when she thought about it.
"It was me and some others out there in a garden.. And he probably used gas, and then took everyone out while they were asleep.. And I saw-- nothing.."
she said hesitantly, but she didn't want to talk about it.
"Sorry.."

From her hesitation, Shang wondered if she had experienced an event where someone was killed by John's corrupted games. He sighed. He wouldn't want to discuss that either. "It's fine, Helga. Tell me about the garden. How it felt to get some fresh air and sunshine. Was it light out then?" He smiled at her as he thought of a different approach to questioning her.

"well... yeah.. It was really nice to see the sun again.." She smiled by the thought and took a deep breath. "It's so sad that we don't enyoy the freedom when we can.. I mean, before we ends up like in one of these places.." she chuckled before she sighed. "But even though it felt --- nice, to be near John is always a hell.."

"Yes. You don't really appreciate what you had until you don't have it anymore..." He thought about what he would do when he got out and decided that finding out as much as he can about this place would help more.
"It's still hard to believe one man is behind all this. Helga, can you tell me if you remember the layout of the garden? What was its condition exactly? Did it look well kept? Abandoned?" He hated tossing questions at her but he didn't know how much longer his time in this room would last.

Helga narrowed her eyes a bit and tried to calm down, she didn't want to be a bitch to everyone she met in this place, but this was so annoying..
"Like I said, I didn't see anything, and if I did, I have forgot.. I had other things to think about than the environment.." She said calmly, but with a hissing tone.
"Can we just change subject..? please?.."

Shang just stared at her for a moment as evaluating her and then sighed. Frustration was building up in him and her nonchalant behavior on this situation wasn't helping. What's with her? He could understand if she had just merely given up but most people wallow in self pity or hit some kind of depression then and from the first moment he met her, she seemed almost content with the situation she's in.
"Okay. What's on your mind?"

Helga sat up straight before she leaned against the wall with a sigh. She shrugged a bit and looked around in the room before she turned her gaze to him.
"I don't know.. Just-- uhm.. Tell me more about yourself...?! How was your life before you came here?.."

Shang sighed and stretched out his legs. "Well I'm 22 and I joined the Chinese army a few months ago. I recently got my own place and advanced to Captain when I was tossed in this monstrosity. How about you, Helga? What's your story?" He asked, rotating his feet in a circular motion.

"Wow.. a captain..?!" Helga smiled and tried to sound impressed, or at least interested in what he said.
"Oh.. Well, there's nothing to talk about really.. I was an orphan who ended up among bad people and became an assassin. "She shrugged as it was nothing and crossed her arms over her chest.
"The only family I had was two 'brothers'.. And one is here.."

Shang smiled when she complimented him. Her interest somehow eased some of his doubts that she lost hope here and when she told him her story, he looked away. Well that explains a lot...
"Wow." It was all he could say at that moment as he thought of how to proceed with her. "Wait, so you have a brother in here?! Who? Is he okay? When's the last time you've seen him?"
